The Hallotober Tag

Surprise! I've hit the blog this week with a double post for the first time ever! If you haven't already seen my post from earlier in the week about Autumn and Winter travel destinations then you need to check that out!

Today I'm back with a very old-school tag which I'm very excited about! I *think* this is the first time I've done a tag on my blog and I'm very excited for it!

Thank you so much to Sophie from Love and Literature and Wool of the King for the tag - be sure to check out their fab posts! And thank you to Of a Glasgow Girl for creating it!

So without any more delaying, here are my answers!

 Questions

1. What’s your favourite thing about October?

Hands down, my birthday! If you didn't see my birthday post, you might be unaware that I turned 21 on the 3rd October and have not stopped talking about it since. I absolutely adore anybody and everybody's birthday and I get so incredibly excited for mine every year (ask my parents or boyfriend for how unbearable I was by the time we got to the 2nd October)! I still love October as a month anyway but having my birthday in it makes it the cherry on top of the cake!

2. Are you a big celebrator of Halloween?

Not really. I don't think the UK as a whole celebrates Halloween very well anyway and I'm not big into scary things either. I have done my fair share of trick or treating over the years with friends when I was younger but nowadays, Halloween is just another day that has an excuse to eat a few more sweet treats than usual!

3. What’s your favourite horror movie?

I absolutely hate any horror films! I am such a scaredy-cat when it comes to anything like that so I don't even think I've ever watched a horror film?! Once when I was at a sleepover and we were watching Women in Black I put headphones in and faced the other way as I didn't want to watch it - it's not even that scary of a film but I just don't like them at all!

4. Would you rather a cosy night in watching horrors or a big night out in a costume?

I'd rather a cosy night in without the horror films so maybe I'd go for a big night out purely for the reason of not watching films! For me, I'd much rather just stay in, eat some sweet treats and watch something not scary on the TV! I'm such a boring Halloween person!

5. Which has been your most favourite costume to date?

I don't think I've ever been someone who puts a huge amount of effort into Halloween but I remember one year that me and my friend dressed up as devils and that was probably as far as my Halloween costume efforts went. I had red tights on, a red top with a black jumper over the top and a black skirt, I think. The look was completed with devil horns, a tail and some blood dripping out of my mouth!

6. Bobbing for apples or pin the hat on the witch?

Pin the hat on the witch, purely for the fact that I am terrible at bobbing for apples!

7. How do you celebrate Halloween?

Like I've said before, Halloween isn't a big celebration for me. It used to be by going out trick or treating but now it's just staying in and watching something. Maybe getting a takeaway if I'm feeling fancy!

8. What’s your least favourite horror?

I think you can probably guess that it's all of them! Though any film that is both scary and full of blood is probably the worst for me!

9. Do you have a favourite trick or treating memory?

One year me and a few friends went out trick or treating and got absolutely drenched. It well and truly tipped it down and we all got completely soaked. We were freezing, damp and all the makeup we had on was running but it was funny at the time!

10. What’s your favourite thing about Halloween?

The excuse to eat more sweet things. I have quite a sweet tooth sometimes so Halloween gives me an excuse to eat even more sweet stuff!

11. Scary costume or Silly costume?

Definitely silly! I'd probably scare myself if I wore a scary costume!

12. What’s your favourite Halloween candy?

This is a tricky one - maybe something sour? I am a big fan of sour sweets so something like that I'd say!

13.1 What's the best pumpkin carving you've done or seen?

I'm not the most artistic of people so pumpkin carving isn't a strong talent of mine. Back in first year, my flat bought 2 pumpkins to carve. Myself and my (soonish to be) boyfriend carved one and the rest of my flat carved the other - theirs was definitely much better than ours so that's probably the best pumpkin carving I've seen!

13.2 What's your favourite Halloween decoration?

I'm a big sucker for bunting so probably some Halloween bunting would be my favourite decoration - I think a good bit of bunting can really bring a whole room and scheme together!

That was fun and hopefully, my answers aren't too dull! Like I say, I'm not the biggest Halloween lover so I don't have very many exciting stories to tell but fingers crossed you haven't fallen asleep whilst reading!
